VNHN (Vietnam Integration) - In the morning of January 15, 2020, at the Dong Xuyen Hotel (Long Xuyen City, An Giang Province): Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province and An Giang Tourism Joint Stock Company organized a ceremony to receive Vietnamese records for 2 items: "The most beautiful and famous Tra Su Cajuput forests in Vietnam" and "The longest bamboo bridge in Vietnam". Representatives of the provincial People's Committee together with the directors of the provincial departments, branches in An Giang province, the directors of the Vietnam National Record Association attended and presented the certificate of record setting. This event will make Tra Su become the driving force for An Giang tourism to accelerate from the beginning of “The year of Rat 2020...

Mr. Duong Duy Lam Vien – General Secretary of the Central Association of Vietnamese recorders awarded the certificate and the insignia for 2 items of Guiness record for the Directors of An Giang Tourism Joint Stock Company.

Mr. Tran Minh Tri - General Director of An Giang Tourism Joint Stock Company reported about tourism development and the construction of setting Vietnam record for Tra Su Cajuput forest and Bridge.

Tra Su Cajuput forest was formed in 1983, from a deserted lowland, with heavily alum contaminated, has been tested by Tinh Bien Forest Enterprise in order to contribute to soil improvement and flood protection. The forest is large with 845 hectares stay in Van Giao commune, Tinh Bien district and a part of O Long Vi commune in Chau Phu district. Tra Su Cajuput forest has a very important effect on the water environment and climate regulation for the whole of the Seven Mountains. The diversity of wetland ecosystems is well protected and conserves genetic resources. There are thousands of individuals of many populations of birds, fish, amphibians, reptiles and rare insects in the red book living in the forest. In 2003, MARD (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) agreed with the proposal of An Giang Provincial People's Committee to build Tra Su cajuput forest to become a nature reserve for people to visit and do scientific research.

In 2017, according the policy of socializing the tourism industry, People's Committee of An Giang Province agreed to assign An Giang Tourism Joint Stock Company (a member of Sao Mai Group) to rent 160 hectares of landscape of Tra Su Cajuput forest environment to do tourism. Enterprises have invested hundreds of billion dong "to change new clothes" by building a series of items: central jetty, bird’s watching yard, flower park, flower raft, food service area, An Giang’s specialty food stall, dredging canals, purchasing dozens of vehicles for transporting passengers and other items, including the addition of rare plant and species animal.

The highlight whole Tra Su Cajuput Forest tourism area is the "Ten Thousand Steps Bamboo Bridge" with a total length of over 10km, with an expense of over 10 billion VND divided into 2 phases. First phase has a length of nearly 4,000 meters, using over 500,000 bamboos of all kinds, with a construction budget of over 5 billion VND, which was put into use on January 1, 2020. Phase II, with a length of about 6km, will continue to be implemented and expected to be completed on April 30, 2020.

Tra Su Cajuput forest and the longest Bamboo Bridge in Vietnam have just been recognized Vietnam's records. 

Since being put into operation, the bamboo bridge has completely changed the appearance of Cajuput forest, attracting a lot of attention from tourists, especially international visitors because of the unique and charm of the work. Not only that, the stylized bamboo bridge is look like "Bamboo’s while dragon" brings an interesting feeling to everyone when fully exploring the rich original natural landscape at the "Tropical Cajuput Museum". In 2019, there were more than 200,000 visitors coming to Tra Su and it is expected that the number of visitors to An Giang will increase sharply when Tra Su Cajuput Forest changes dramatically.
